[MELE MELE x Working Women] Interview vol.2 Eimy

Who is a MELE MELE Woman?

MELE MELE, which supports working women, is a project where MELE interviews women who are creatively active in various genres.

Vol.2 Eimy @blueappleyokohama

Our second guest is Eimy, who is not only active as a jazz singer in commercial songs and events, but also as a songwriter.

We attended a live performance at the bar "Tableaux Lounge Daikanyama" in Daikanyama and talked about the thoughts behind his active activities. He also talks about MELE MELE jewelry.

Q Please tell us about Eimy's work.

A: I often work as a voice for advertising and sing at events, restaurants, and bars as a jazz singer.

Q: I enjoy working! At what moment do you think so?

A: When hot water boils, there is a moment when water gushes out at the boiling point. It's the same as that boiling point, and when you're singing at a venue, there's a moment when you become one with the venue. I really love that. I also love meeting people and hearing their stories. From there I got ideas and turned them into my own songs.

Q I think this year has been greatly affected by the new coronavirus infection, what do you think?

A: During the coronavirus pandemic, there were quite a few musicians who hid their part-time jobs and only posted about their activities on social media, but I don't think that's embarrassing. . It doesn't matter if musicians do other jobs because they do it for a living, as long as their spirit is ``I love music,'' that's fine. Another thing I learned was that it doesn't just have to be about music, it can be fun. During the self-restraint period due to the coronavirus, I also tried other jobs other than being a musician, but I thought I should keep my heart strong. If you brainwash yourself into thinking, ``Why do I have to do this, I'm not doing this!'' then that's all you'll end up doing. I love music myself, but I thought it would be fun to try a different job. Of course, I'm a musician at my core, but because I did it with that mindset, I became more open-minded during the coronavirus, and I learned a lot.

Q Please tell us Eimy's motto.

A “Live in the moment”

My mother has always said, ``You don't know what will happen tomorrow, and you don't know what kind of day it will be tomorrow. So you should never regret what you have now and don't waste it.'' Lately, I've come to empathize with this. It's been 12 years since I've been married to my husband, but we've never gone out somewhere without a fight. I always have this fear of not knowing what's going to happen tomorrow, so if something happens, I try not to let it out until I've resolved it or said I'm sorry.

Q: Can I wear jewelry everyday?

A I like jewelry. I like accessories that can be easily purchased, and I also like to try wearing proper jewelry once in a while. It changes my mood. It turns ON and OFF when you put on makeup, right? I feel the same way. However, accessories that are easy to wear often turn black or dull when you sweat and end up ruining them.

Q What do you think of MELE MELE's jewelry?

A: I think it may have made my ideals come true. Because, you know, I want to wear something nice, but if I were to wear good jewelry every day, it would be very expensive, and I would only wear it on important occasions! So, in the end, many things end up being shelved. In the case of MELE MELE, it's a diamond, but it doesn't get stored away, and even if you drop it (whisper), it won't be the end of the world, which really fulfills the ideal. I also like that it not only has a delicate design, but also a dynamic design that makes a surprising statement. I hope there will be more!

Q: How do you feel about wearing jewelry?

A It's really light! It looked so natural that I forgot I was wearing it. I had never had my ears pierced until last year, and I was wearing large earrings, but towards the end of the stage I had a severe headache. First of all, I'm really happy that I no longer have earrings, and even more, I don't have to worry about wearing light jewelry like mele-mere, which is something I've been struggling with up until now!

Jewelry worn by Eimy “LUSTER Necklace L”

The "LUSTER" series has melee diamonds lined up in a row and gives off a flowing shine. The vertically long silhouette maintains elegance but is not too formal, giving it a subtle style-enhancing effect. Finished with an extremely small stone clasp to maximize the brilliance of the melee diamond.
